NFL Insider – 5 Burning Questions for NFL Week 15

December 15th, 2009

There are just three weeks left in the NFL betting season, and BetUS poses five questions for football handicappers to watch out for in Week 15…

1: How much longer can the perfect seasons continue? Until (or unless) the Saints and Colts lose a game, this will be the #1 question in the minds of everyone in the NFL. Both teams faced stiff tests in Week 14, but both ultimately got the job done like good teams do. But now, New Orleans plays host to the Cowboys, while Indy has to travel to the Jaguars. Both Dallas and Jacksonville are in dire need for victories to keep their playoff hopes alive, and with the top team in each conference essentially wrapping up home field advantage throughout the playoffs, doesn’t it just feel like a week where one, if not both teams fall?

2: Can the Titans get back into the playoff picture once and for all? Tennessee scratched and clawed back from 0-6 and is now just one game behind a host of teams at 7-6 for the final playoff spot in the AFC. A win against Miami would finally get the Titans back to .500, but the Dolphins are playing some of the best ball in the entire NFL and could also put this team out of its misery with a ‘W’ as well. Perhaps the better question about this game: What will RB Chris Johnson do next? He picked up three more TDs against the Rams on Sunday and now has seven TDs of at least 50 yards this year.

3: Will the Patriots’ road woes continue? Remember, this is a team that hasn’t won a legitimate road game this season! Now New England has to face the media about WR Randy Moss and whether he has quit on his team or not just in time to head to Ralph Wilson Stadium to tango with a Buffalo squad that is playing strong football under interim HC Perry Fewell. Things could get mighty interesting should the Fins and/or Jets win and New England loses on Sunday.

4: Who will capture the #2 seed in the AFC? In Week 14, the Bengals looked like a team that was far more interested in its trip to Qualcomm Stadium than its current task at hand, while the Chargers looked great, handing the Cowboys a crippling loss. If San Diego wins on Sunday, it’ll lock up the #2 seed in the AFC. If Cincinnati gets the job done, it’ll know that two more wins will give it a very improbable first round bye.

5: Will a swarm of locusts open up over Arrowhead Stadium? What else could possibly happen when the Browns face off with the Chiefs on Sunday? How on earth does CBS preview this game? “Quinn! Cassel! It’s the NFL on CBS!” Or should the network try this one? “It’s a battle for the #3 pick in the NFL Draft! Don’t miss it!” Or this? “Former Patriots duke it out where the loser loses his job! It’s Mangini versus Pioli at Arrowhead Stadium and its up next!”
