NASCAR Power Rankings – JJ is #1 Going into the Brickyard 400 Week

by The Bookie on July 22nd, 2010 No Comments

This week NASCAR heads back to Indianapolis for the Brickyard 400!
Although there was no race last week, I actually changed some things on my NASCAR Power Rankings because I believe that Indianapolis Motor Speedway is such a unique track that more attention should be placed on some drivers than other drivers.

by The Bookie on July 22nd, 2010 No Comments

NASCAR betting fans know that pretty soon, someone is going to say it has gone too far, but when?

NASCAR Betting – Sprint Cup Drivers on the Bubble

by The Bookie on July 17th, 2010 No Comments

NASCAR bettors know that the drivers battle it out all year long with a specific purpose – to get into the Chase for the Cup, which puts the top twelve drivers in a playoff for the overall championship, and naturally when you do that, you are going to have Sprint Cup drivers on the bubble, with the possibility of moving in or out of the top 12 depending on the results of any single race…. NASCAR Power Rankings – Kyle Wins…Finally!

by The Bookie on July 17th, 2010 No Comments

Kyle Busch won his first race of the season this past Saturday after crossing the finish line first and taking home the trophy for the Crown Royal 400 at Richmond.
Busch passed Jeff Gordon, who has had nothing but bad luck so far in 2010, after the final restart of the race.  Busch’s victory was well-deserved as he not only had won the pole but led the most laps in the Crown Royal…. See the full article here.

NASCAR Betting – Johnson vs Gordon

by The Bookie on July 16th, 2010 No Comments

It looks like it may be a feud; at least that is how a lot of NASCAR betting fans are seeing it, but it won’t get too much farther if their boss has anything to say about it. Two of the living legends of NASCAR, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon, appear to be in a bit of a tussle after Johnson bumped Gordon out of the way two weeks in a row. See the full article here.

NASCAR Odds To Win Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500

by The Bookie on July 16th, 2010 No Comments

The wing is out, and the spoiler is in.
That’s what the buzz will be around the garage at Martinsville this weekend.
The rear wing came in when NASCAR introduced its “Car of Tomorrow” in 2007, and it did not prove to be the most popular thing. The drivers went 93 races with it, and the general feeling is that it was not a sound thing from an aerodynamics perspective. See the full article here.

Johnson seeks first victory at Chicagoland

by The Bookie on July 15th, 2010 No Comments

NASCAR bettors who follow the sport closely know that while Jimmie Johnson has won four straight Sprint Cup titles, he is still seeking his first win at Chicagoland Speedway, the site of this week’s Lifelock.com 400. He may or may not win the race, but he can win for you, because of “group betting.” In this proposition, Johnson is matched with four other NASCAR stars to see who will… See the full article here.

NASCAR Power Rankings – Hamlin Moves Back to 1st

by The Bookie on July 15th, 2010 No Comments

Jimmie is still in the top 3 in the power rankings.  Don’t worry, JJ fans.
Even though the favorite in the NASCAR sportsbook to take home the 2010 Sprint Cup Championship finished a lackluster 25th at Chicagoland Motorspeedway this past Saturday, he’s still ranked in the Top 3 in my power rankings because he’s still Jimmie Johnson and he’s still been awesome the… See the full article here.

NASCAR Power Rankings – Newman Wins the Subway Fresh Fit 600

by The Bookie on July 15th, 2010 No Comments

Ryan Newman finally came through with a terrific victory by taking home the Subway Fresh Fit 600 trophy. It was a nice win for Stewart-Haas Racing, but it’s not enough to put Newman into the Top 5 in the NASCAR Power Rankings.
In fact, the Top 3 spots are dominated by Hendrick Motor Sports who proved this past Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway that they’re still the Kings of… See the full article here.

NASCAR Power Rankings: Jimmie Still the King but Denny Finally Gets into the Power Rankings

by The Bookie on July 15th, 2010 No Comments

For a moment there it looked like Jeff Gordon or Matt Kenseth would be the easy winner of the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500.
Gordo had the lead on lap 507 but as he moved to block Matt Kenseth, Denny Hamlin, who had put fresh tires on during a caution on lap 493, sped past him.  He easily grabbed the win and now will make his debut in the NASCAR Power Rankings.

by The Bookie on July 13th, 2010 No Comments

Joey Logano, the 19-year-old who may one day become the face of NASCAR, will start on the pole for the O’Reilly 300, but he will not be the betting favorite for the event. That honor goes to Nationwide Series mainstay Kyle Busch, who is listed at +200 in the betting odds for the race that begins at 5 PM ET on Monday at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. NASCAR Will Try It Again Today

by The Bookie on July 13th, 2010 No Comments

The racing gods, I guess, were not going to let those drivers test the new rear spoiler for the first time in inclement weather on Sunday, and so NASCAR will try it again on Monday, as the Samsung Mobile 500 gets a new start at 1 PM ET at Texas Motor Speedway. Fox will televise it live. See the full article here.

Bet on NASCAR – Few Tracks as Revered as Talladega

by The Bookie on July 12th, 2010 No Comments

There are few tracks in NASCAR that are revered as much as Alabama’s Talladega Superspeedway, the tri-oval, which like some of the other outstanding tracks, hosts both a spring race in the Sprint Cup (the Aaron’s 499) and one in the fall (AMP Energy 500), not to mention a Nationwide Series race (the Aaron’s 312), a Camping World Truck race (the Mountain Dew 250) and an event in the ARCA… See the full article here.

NASCAR Update. One Busch Brother Comes Up Big While It Might Time to Worry About the Other

by The Bookie on July 12th, 2010 No Comments

Atlanta Motor Speedway had been kind to Kurt Busch in 2009. Busch took the checkered flag in the Kobalt Tools 500 in 2009 even though his brother, Kyle Busch, was one of the favorites to win the 2009 Sprint Cup and appeared ready to dominate NASCAR.
Three-hundred and sixty five days later, Atlanta has proven to be kind once again to Kurt Busch. The only difference for the Busch brother this time… See the full article here.

NASCAR: Odds to win 2010 Sprint Cup

by The Bookie on February 27th, 2010 No Comments

If you watched Sunday’s coverage of the Auto Club 500 on Sunday you realize that there was something of a stroke of luck that enabled Jimmie Johnson to travel on to Las Vegas with the checkered flag in hand.
He was in the pits when the yellow flag came out, the result of a mishap involving Brad Keselowski, which took place about 26 laps from the finish, and made it out of there with what looked… See the full article here.

NASCAR Update: JJ Turns a Pit Stop into Victory in Auto Club 500

by The Bookie on February 27th, 2010 No Comments

The favorite in the NASCAR sportsbook, Jimmie Johnson who was going off at +450, didn’t disappoint on Sunday when he used a fortunate caution flag to gain control of the Auto Club 500 and take the checkered flag.
It was lap 223 and #48 was on pit road when Brad Keselowski spun his car off of turn four after coming into contact with David Reutimann. NASCAR pulled out the yellow caution flag… See the full article here.

NASCAR: Will Talladega Tame Jimmie Johnson Yet Again?

by The Bookie on November 14th, 2009 No Comments

Race-day:  11/1/2009
Race-time:  12:00 pm EST
NASCAR heads to Talladega for the AMP Energy 500 with the Sprint Cup Chase already pretty much decided.  Jimmie Johnson has a 118 point lead over fellow driver Mark Martin.  That means that Johnson would pretty much have to implode in order to lose the championship.
The likelihood of that happening is on par with the city of… See the full article here.

NASCAR Update – Hamlin, Montoya and Busch Rise While Stewart and Gordon Fall

by The Bookie on September 29th, 2009 No Comments

After the first race of The Chase it’s apparent that the old man isn’t going away. Mark Martin is hell bent on winning the Sprint Cup. By finishing first in the Sylvania 300, Martin proved that his move to Hendrick Motor Sports was a good one and that he was going to make the most of it now that he was in The Chase and was the point’s leader.
